In response, Let's Get Together with the support of the University of Toronto Mississauga Centre for Student Engagement developed Businesses Engaging and Encouraging Teens (BEET) - a 5-part student-centered program that aims to connect and strengthen relationships between youth and businesses.
The BEET program will teach youth important work ethics and how to balance their responsibilities while respectfully navigate themselves in a workplace. It will provide youth with meaningful peer mentorship connections through small group trainings, hands-on volunteer experience and connect them to a network of employment agencies to provide additional support.
Recognizing healthy relationships create healthy work environments, BEET will provide businesses and employers, who interact and/or support youth, a customized program designed to help create a more productive and empowering work environment for youth to thrive in.
